The creation of my art is a very emotional experience for me. I focus on the positive energy and happy feelings associated with the subject matter and work to transform it into art. I paint sights and scenes that I find beautiful, safe and peaceful. I feel especially at home at the beach because of the way the light hits the ocean. The result is a powerful expression of color and warmth that provides an idyllic window of escape to anyone who views it.
I was born and raised in Tottenham, London, England. Growing up, one of my fondest memories was taking the train from the city to the beach with my father and siblings. The meandering train ride provided striking visuals as she transformed from the city to the country and ultimately to the beach. It is no surprise that the focus of my artwork again brings me to the place of childhood memories of the beach.
I work in oils, and was introduced to painting in 2002. In 2007, one of my paintings was accepted into the Firehouse Art Gallery in Milford, CT. Since then I have been represented in several local venues including the Cabot House Art Gallery, Laurie’s Art Gallery in Rhode Island, Greenwich Art Gallery, East Greenwich, Norwich Fine Arts Gallery, CT.. I have also exhibited at the Mystic Art Gallery, Mystic, CT. I am a self taught artist. Since moving to Rhode Island in 2008, I have pursued my passion taking classes locally and exhibiting my work. Painting seascapes and landscapes is the focus of much of my work.
